How to Apply for an NDIS Replacement Support
If you would like to apply for a replacement support from the two categories allowed including General Household Items or Smart Watches, IPads and Apps, it’s easy! You can apply by emailing the Application for Replacement Support form to the main NDIA enquiries email.
When going through the for. You will be asked to advise:
• What the replacement support is and its cost
• Which NDIS support you want to replace from your existing funded supports and,
• How the new support will work as well or better than the one you’re replacing
The great news is that no extra assessments are needed—just focus on how this support will help you, like participating in community activities or doing tasks independently!
If Your Application is Approved, the NDIA will call you to confirm and send a letter via post or email. You can purchase your replacement support right away—just show the provider of the item the NDIA approval letter, and if you self manage, upload a record of the invoice or receipt when claiming.
If Your Application is Not Approved, the NDIA will explain why, but you can continue using your current supports. If not approved, you’ll need to wait 12 months to reapply for the same support, but you can apply for a different one at anytime!
