NDIS Eligibility Reassessments

Here’s some important info for NDIS participants about eligibility reassessments.

If there’s evidence suggesting you might not meet the requirements—like residency, early intervention pathway or disability, the NDIS will reach out to you.

Here’s the process:

You’ll be informed that your eligibility is being reassessed and which specific requirements are under review.

They’ll tell you what information they need from you. You’ll have 28 days to provide it, and you can ask for an extension if needed.

A different staff member will review your case that your usual planner or LAC, ensuring a fair assessment.

If you still meet the criteria, you’ll remain a participant and keep your supports. If not, you’ll receive written notice about the decision.

If you disagree with the decision, reach out to your planner or local area coordinator for guidance.

You can request an internal review within three months of the decision.

If still unsatisfied, you can escalate it to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

If deemed ineligible, you can reapply unless waiting on a review decision.
