NDIS Transitional Rules
Did you know about the new transitional rules for NDIS supports?
New transitional rules define eligible NDIS supports as the government works on permanent regulations.
Key changes include
1. Applicants must demonstrate a need for NDIS support and there is an approved list of supports.
2. There is also an outs list and there are only two categories of Non-NDIS items on this outs list which can be approved for funding in specific circumstances.
NDIS funding cannot be used for items on the outs list without prior NDIA approval.
Misuse may lead to compliance actions. Participants wanting to substitute an approved NDIS supports on the out’s list for an alternative must prove they meet criteria.
3. Eligibility now requires showing that the support is necessary and related to the participant’s disability.
