NDIS Whats the Deal with Supports?
let’s dive into the world of therapy supports for NDIS participants aged 7 and up.
So what’s the deal on therapy supports?
These supports are all about helping participants with established disabilities to level up or maintain their functional abilities.
We’re not talking medical treatment here – that’s already been taken care of. Instead, it’s all about adjustment, adaptation, maintenance and building skills.
Think of it as giving participants the tools they need to thrive!
So who’s on the therapy dream team?
This list is impressive including professions who must be registered under specific registration or supervisory boards….such as:
Art Therapists
Audiologists
Counsellors
Developmental Educators
Dietitians
Exercise Physiologists
Music Therapists
Psychologists…. just to name a few
And if someone doesn’t fit neatly into these categories but has a Bachelor’s degree or higher in their relevant area and holds current registration or membership with their relevant registration and or professional body they can join the list as an “Other Professional.”
Can these supports help with health stuff too?
You bet! If it’s related to a participant’s significant and permanent functional impairment and helps with daily activities, it’s good to go.
